How Musulman Calculates Prayer Times

At Musulman.app, we aim to provide prayer times that are both accurate and trustworthy for Muslims around the world. Our timings are calculated using well-known Islamic methods and adjusted to match the local time zone of each city.

We support multiple calculation methods used by Islamic organisations, such as:

  • Muslim World League
  • Umm al-Qura University, Makkah
  • Islamic Community in Germany (for many European cities)
  • University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi
  • Egyptian General Authority of Survey

For Asr, you can choose between the Shafi'i / Maliki / Hanbali opinion (shadow factor 1) and the Hanafi opinion (shadow factor 2), depending on your fiqh preference.

Our system also:

  • Automatically applies the correct time zone and daylight saving changes where relevant
  • Updates prayer times daily
  • Aligns Hijri and Gregorian dates so you always know the Islamic date for your city

If you notice that prayer times in your local mosque follow a slightly different convention, you can adjust the method and madhhab in the settings on each city page.
