We collect location information to provide accurate prayer times for your area. This may include:
- City and country information
- Timezone data
- Geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) when you search for locations
We store your prayer calculation preferences locally in your browser, including:
- Calculation method selection
- Juristic school preference
- Prayer time and Hijri date adjustments
We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our service:
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Browser and device information
- Search queries for locations
When you use the Musulman iOS app, the following applies in addition to the general policy above.
The app requests access to your location "when in use" only — never in the background. Your coordinates are used solely to identify your nearest city for prayer time calculation. Location data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Prayer time notifications are scheduled entirely on your device using iOS local notifications. No notification content or delivery data is sent to any external server. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Musulman.
Prayer times, current weather, and the daily dua are written to a private App Group container shared between the app and its widget extension. This data never leaves your device.
Current weather is fetched via Apple's WeatherKit service. Your location coordinates are sent to Apple's servers to retrieve weather conditions. Apple's WeatherKit privacy terms apply to this data exchange.
No advertising or tracking. The Musulman app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, and does not use Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
The app stores all preferences (city, calculation method, notification settings, theme) locally on your device. Deleting the app permanently removes all stored data. There is no server-side account to delete.
We use the collected information to:
- Provide accurate Islamic prayer times based on your location
- Remember your prayer calculation preferences
- Improve the accuracy and functionality of our service
- Analyse usage patterns to enhance user experience
Your privacy and data security are important to us:
- Prayer preferences are stored locally in your browser's local storage
- We do not store personal identifiable information on our servers
- Location searches are processed securely and not permanently stored
- We implement appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access
This section applies to the Musulman.app website. The iOS app does not use cookies or browser storage — all app data is stored locally on your device (see section 2).
We use browser storage technologies to enhance your experience:
- Local storage — to remember your prayer preferences and location settings

- Cookies — for basic site functionality and analytics (if applicable)
